Tough no nonsense player. Took the club through one of its most successful eras. Acknowledged as an inspirational leader and highly successful coach.
The team never won a game during the 1967 season until Devine started playing in the 7th round. They then never lost one again that season.

John Devine was inducted into the North Hobart Football Club Hall of Fame in 2004.

John is the current Vice Patron of the club.
