Master Rules

Season 2009 has seen the inauguration of a North Hobart Master Rules team. The new line-up is a union of the ex Old Scholars side and others combining to form The North Hobart Masters Football Club.

The players are grateful to be able to co-exist with the senior club and use the great facilities North Hobart provides.

Our aim is to provide a fun environment for any player over 33 wishing to maintain an active involvement in football.

The support from everyone at North Hobart particularly, “The Shadows”, has been much appreciated and in turn The Masters Group will supply support and partisanship to the North Hobart football club. A special thank you for the current coach Matthew Geappen in allowing us “oldies” to have a lope on the hallowed turf every Thursday night

Retaining and attracting ex players and retiring players to the club is always an ongoing battle. During the course of our existence we are hopeful that this encourages former members to return back to the fold.

Currently we have played 28 different men and are hoping to increase our numbers as time passes.

A special thank you goes to Gerard Wolfe, Martin Evans, Shaun McGuire and Rick Field for the coordination of our beginning and their ongoing work.

The Masters look forward to a long and satisfying relationship with the North Hobart tribe for many more years.
